Football Development Centres
Sporting World provide Football Development Centres across the west country that are designed to create player pathways for young people aged between 8-12 years old to have the opportunity to progress from school football to professional academies. We have links with profession clubs in the area and one of our boys from the Street centre has already been signed up by Bristol City FC.
The centres are run by FA qualified coaches that run sessions to the FA four corner model of improving young players technically, physically, psychologically and socially proving a more rounded player.
Sherborne FDC
The Sherborne Football Development Centre has been running for six months and we have a good balance of players from each age group and the standard is very high. This was highlighted in a very competitive match against our sister centre in Street. The current batch continues to improve and work hard under the guidance of Ben Treloar and Tom Manley. If players keep working hard, it is hoped that in the near future some players will be given the chance to trail at professional academies.
Christchurch FDC
Sporting World is proud to announce that it is starting another centre in Christchurch on Monday evenings at The Grange Sports Collage. The centre will commence on the 10th of October 2011. It is hoped that if this centre mirrors our other centres progression rates then they will be a very talented bunch.
Anyone interested in coming along should contact Tom Manley on 07850966988.
